2024 Christmas Sugar Cookie Etsy Gift Guide!

We are approaching the busiest time of the year for us cookie decorators! The holiday season is upon us!

I absolutely love supporting small businesses, especially during the holiday season. I have my own small business with this blog so I understand all the hard behind-the-scenes work that everyone is doing.

So, to lift up those small businesses, I’ve curated my favorite Etsy gift guide/sugar cookie finds for you to support.

I’ll also create some ideas for each design if you need some help with the creative juices this time of year. I know my brain can get a bit overloaded with all the holiday to-dos!

Christmas Sugar Cookie Etsy Gift Guide

Let’s start with cookie cutters because those are really the bread and butter for us cookiers! Here are some of my favorites for the season!

Etsy Gift Guide for Christmas Cookie Cutters

First up is a cookie cutter I’ve been wanting since last year but ran out of time. This will be the year for me to use it!

This cookie cutter is a holiday postage stamp by Lolano Cookie Cutters.

This is a great cookie cutter to go with a Santa/North Pole Christmas sugar cookie set. The stamp could say “to Santa” or “North Pole.”

It would also be beautiful to decorate as a vintage Christmas stamp and go along with a vintage Christmas cookie set.

Up next is a cute snowman cookie cutter by KreatiF Store. It reminds me of the Santa ornaments my mom would make and sell at the Christmas craft bazaars when I was a kid.

This cookie is decorated with royal icing but don’t let the details deter you from using buttercream.

Simply outline where you want everything to go and then fill it in with the classic back & forth piping technique. You can use one of five smoothing methods I teach in my Merry Cookies online class too!

I would use a PME tip 1.5 to draw the details rather than an edible marker. Super easy and you don’t need to make a huge batch of black buttercream! Speaking of black buttercream, here’s a post on how to make that if you need it this Christmas baking season!

Now these Santa name tag cookies by The Sweet Designs Shoppe are one of the cutest things I’ve seen in the cookie decorating world!

These are perfect gifts for friends or even table place settings for the Christmas dinner table! To write the names, either use a projector (here’s my post on my recommended projector + tips for using it on cookies) or practice tracing the names on wax paper and place the spent buttercream back into the bag.

Peg doll cookies are in this year and the nativity scene is always in! The Cookiery has the cutest peg doll nativity scene cookie cutter set.

I love that you can buy the whole set (look how many you get!) or pick and choose which ones you want.

The nativity scene might not leave as much room for imagination as other Christmas sets; however, you can play with the color scheme which we know as cookiers is very important!

Sugar Dash Co has a cute four piece set that just screams nostalgia and childhood Christmas vibes!

 

This set comes in the classic 4″ cookie cutter size and all of the designs transfer well from royal icing to buttercream. You don’t even need to smooth these ones! Use the classic back & forth piping and a PME 1.5 tip for the details.

For a switch up from the classic hot cocoa Christmas mug this year, try these super fun Christmas cocktail cookie cutters by Cookie Cutters by Nori!

Christmas cocktail cookie cutters would be perfect for a Christmas wedding set, bridal shower set, or just any Christmas party with adults!

To decorate these ones, work in layers. For instance, I’d outline the candy cane first, then the martini glass. I’d fill everything in and then pipe the bow on top last. Here is a tutorial for how I did bows on last year’s Christmas cookies.

This year I’m hoping to decorate some Christmas pj cookies and this Santa in his pajamas cookie cutter by Bobbi’s Cutters is sooo cute!

 

I love that you can easily add texture to the Santa pajama cookies – one of the best things about decorating with buttercream! Use a star tip for Santa’s beard and have fun with different pj patterns and colors!

Similar to the postage stamp cookie cutter, this super cute letter to Santa cookie cutter by Charlson Cookie Co is so fun for the holiday.

For this one, I’d write “Dear Santa” in the top in script and then in kid-font I’d write “for Christmas I want…” This is super easy and you only need to have nice handwriting for the Dear Santa which helps take the pressure off.

Again, you can use a projector for the script if you don’t have the time to learn writing right now.

You can also leave the note part blank and just draw some notebook lines! Either way, this one is a winner for Christmas this year.

This next one has become popular over the last few years and it always seems to do well in presales for people! Kaleida Cuts has the cutest cookies for Santa cookie cutter.

Pair this one with a glass of milk cookie cutter and a buttercream frosted cookie with Christmas sprinkles!

Lastly, you cannot go wrong with some Christmas florals. Yolis Yummies Supplies has a beautiful Christmas floral arrangement cookie cutter that will really wow this year.

Yolis Yummies Supplies is a shop I have shopped at for years now and I always love the quality! For this one, I’d do two greenery/leaf shades of green, some holly berries, and a beautiful rose or poinsettia in the middle.

I don’t know what it is but I love a good Christmas baking sweatshirt or shirt! Flame Design US has a cute Christmas sugar cookie sweatshirt that comes in 15 colors.

I’m loving this Christmas cookie sweatshirt by Bronikowski Art that also comes in multiple color choices.
