- lemon cookie cutter (I purchased this set from Amazon that includes some fun fruits: https://amzn.to/2TVDUSI)
- Wilton gel coloring to obtain yellow, green, and white buttercream frosting, here’s my crusting buttercream recipe
- Your favorite sugar cookie dough recipe – if you don’t have a favorite, here’s mine
- parchment paper
- Angled flat spatula or butter knife
Part 2: Setting up the Icing Bags & Baking the Sugar Cookies
Roll out, cut, and bake your cookies and allow them to cool. While they are cooling, whip up your frosting. To set up your icing bags, place your white frosting into a bag with a tip #5 in it. Place your green frosting into a bag with your tip #2 in it. Place your yellow frosting into a bag with a coupler, with tip #5 attached first.
Part 3: Decorating the Lemon Baby Shower Cookies
For your lemons, outline the edges and fill them in with your yellow frosting with tip #5 attached.
For your bottles, take your white frosting and outline the edges of the bottle. Fill the shape in with horizontal lines and then outline/fill the nipple.
Switch your yellow frosting to a tip #2. Draw in the measuring guide on the bottles and outline/fill in the bottle cap. I used vertical lines for the cap so that it mimic’s the cap’s texture.
For the onesie baby shower cookies, outline the edges with your white frosting and fill in the shape.
Take your parchment paper, lay it on top, and gently press down to remove the lines on the onesie. Carefully remove the parchment paper away from the frosting, making sure to not pick up any frosting. Doing this always reminds me of those temporary tattoos.
Then, take your flat spatula or butter knife and smooth out the surface even more.
Take your yellow frosting, with tip #2 still attached, and outline the shape of the onesie again.
Draw in the details to make it look even more like a onesie.
Draw and color in tiny lemons on the onesie to create a lemon printed onesie.
Take your green frosting and create small leaves on the lemons. You can create a dot and then pull the frosting away from the dot. You can also create a small dot and use your butter knife to pull the frosting out to create a tip as well.
