This movie is such a classic and one of the only romcoms my husband is happy to watch with me. When it used to be on Netflix, he would put it on for me but sometimes I wasn’t even in the room! I do love movies with Reese Witherspoon and movies that take place in the south so this is definitely a favorite of mine. These cookies would be great for a girl’s night in party. You could even make them with the other romcom-inspired cookies I have on the site. They would also be fun for a Valentine’s Day party!

For supplies, you will need:

Roll out, cut, and bake your cookies and allow them to cool. While they are cooling, whip up your frosting. To set up your icing bags, put your white frosting into a bag with a tip #5 in it. Put your yellow frosting in a bag with a tip #5 in it. Put your blue frosting in a bag with a tip #2 in it. Put your red frosting in a bag with a coupler. You will need tip #5 attached first.

To create your hearts, use your red frosting with tip #5 attached and draw an outline.

Fill in your heart with the red frosting & tip #5 still attached. Once all of your hearts are completed, you can switch your tip out for a tip #2, as you won’t be needing tip #5 for the red frosting anymore.

To create your lightning bolts, take your yellow frosting and outline the lightning bolt.

Then fill it in.

For your “so I can kiss you anytime I want” cookies, outline your rectangles with white frosting and fill them in. You can do half of your rectangle cookies with this design if you want, however, I think cookies with writing are more difficult, so you can do more cake cookies than writing cookies if you prefer.

Take your blue frosting and write, “so I can kiss you anytime I want.” If you make a mistake with spacing or on a letter, use a butter knife to pick up the frosting and “erase” it.

Draw your red lips with tip #2 attached to the bag.

For the wedding cakes, take your yellow frosting and outline/fill in the rectangles.

Use your white frosting to outline your cake.

Fill in the cake with vertical lines.

To make the Rock ‘Em Sock “Em topper, take your red and blue frostings and create a small square for the head and a larger square for the body. Make sure your red frosting still has tip #2 on it. You can use a butter knife to push the frosting into a square shape if it was too difficult to do with the tips.

Draw an arm extending from the blue robot toward the red robot.

Then, draw a red arm from the red robot over the blue robot’s arm.

It didn’t seem appropriate to make Sweet Home Alabama cookies without this funny wedding cake!
