Insta Worthy Birthday Party Cookies Shopping List

Insta Worthy Birthday Party Cookies Shopping Page

Have I mentioned how excited I am for you to be DIYing your own cookies? You’re about to have so much fun and your kids are going to absolutely LOVE their birthday treats.

I went ahead and put all of the tools for the mini course here. You are welcome to shop these links or purchase these items when you’re out and about at your local store. I know I have seen the piping bags at Safeway and the gel food coloring at Walmart.

Remember, you probably already have some of these items like a rolling pin and baking sheet. You don’t need special ones but I’ve linked some in case you don’t have these items and needed a reminder. We have mom brain, it’s okay. I didn’t even know if I had a rolling pin before I started baking cookies a couple years ago. Plus, my toddler rearranges my kitchen drawers like 8x a day, so no judgement over here.

Tools for Insta-Worthy Birthday Party Cookies

You will need two gel food colors to go with your child’s birthday party theme. I have linked the 8 pack of Wilton gel food colors if you aren’t sure which colors you want yet. You can buy them individually in stores for around $2 a color.

I prefer the Wilton 12″ icing bags for decorating sugar cookies and these are what I reference in the course.

I linked my favorite rolling pin below. It’s my favorite because it has the 1/4″ and 3/8″ measuring guides for rolling your cookies. You do not need this so if you have a rolling pin already, use yours. If you don’t have one, consider the Joseph Joseph linked below.

I use an aluminum jelly roll pan to bake my sugar cookies, as I believe it performs best, i.e. no spread on the cookies.

If you’d like to use a silicone baking sheet to prevent browning on the bottom of your cookies, this set is great.

If you’d rather not use the cookie cutter templates, you can purchase the ones I used.

I used the yellow Easter egg cutter in this set. By the way, if you just know you are going to love baking sugar cookies, I’d recommend buying this anyway. I use it ALL THE TIME. Like seriously.

You can also just purchase an Easter egg cutter on it’s own. I love the Ann Clark brand.

The birthday cake cookie cutter is also made by Ann Clark Cookie Cutters.

Remember if you don’t have a stand mixer, try to borrow one from a friend or family member. Even if that means you will go to their house for Day 1 & Day 2. Of course, if you’ve been needing an excuse to get a stand mixer.. I won’t stop you.

The other items needed are mixing bowls, forks, butter knives, a rubber spatula, the paddle attachment on the stand mixer, scissors, parchment paper, and then the food ingredients. I promise the food ingredients aren’t anything luxury and high end, the cookies will just taste that way.

If you want to use the templates rather than the cookie cutters, you will want a printer & permanent marker as well.

You can find all of the ingredients in the instant download PDF in the “About Leah and What to Expect from the Course” welcome section.
